On September 13, Bangor continues the long-time tradition of the Run for Hope. We invite you and your family to come out and support cancer care and cancer research in our community by being a part of a tradition that has helped to fund cancer prevention and clinical trials locally at EMMC’s CancerCare of Maine.
Join other runners, joggers, and walkers for the Run for Hope, a 5K Walk & Run (RRTC certified course). This year, we are pleased to add a new feature to the event – a 13–mile bicycle ride. All events will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 11:30 am at the Best Western White House Inn (Exit 180, formerly 44, off I-95, behind Dysart's). The bicycle ride will not be timed and participants may start their ride at any time. However, awards will be given to the bicyclists who raise the most money.
Entry fees are $15 for individuals ($20 on race day) and $35 for a family. T-shirts are available to the first 200 registrants for an additional cost of $5 a shirt. If you are not running or walking, but would like to make a donation, you can send a check to Run for Hope, c/o the Best Western White House Inn, 155 Littlefield Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401.
Celebrate a hero in your life, in your community, and help make a difference in the fight against cancer. Every dollar that is raised will stay right here in our community helping neighbors and friends. Refreshments and door prizes will be available.
