Governor Recognizes Local Event to Benefit Childrens’ Healthcare!
Governor Baldacci has declared March 27, Maine Martial Arts Day in celebration of healthy lifestyle activities for Maine’s youth. Observing this honor, Huard’s Martial Arts School will host the 30th Annual “Battle of Maine” Martial Arts Championship with proceeds to benefit Healthcare Charities’ Children’s Miracle Network of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems. Scheduled for Saturday, March 27, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, at Sukee Arena in Winslow, this day-long event will feature Karate, Chanbara, Weapons and fighting competitions for juniors and adults, including physically challenged classes. The public is encouraged to attend this exciting family-oriented event. One dollar from the sale of every ticket will benefit Healthcare Charities’ Children’s Miracle Network.
Martial arts competitors from throughout the state will compete in 130 youth and adult divisions. Demo Team competitions will provide spectacular entertainment in the center ring beginning promptly at 9:00 am. $1.00 from every ticket sold will go to the Children’s Miracle Network to benefit local children’s healthcare services. Casual for a Cause/Miracle Jeans Day-
The Miracle Jeans Day/Casual for a Cause concept is simple. Individuals or groups can participate in this day by supporting Children's Miracle Network with a donation of just $3 or $5. In return, businesses allow their employees to dress down and participants can choose from memorable /Casual for a Cause/Miracle Jeans Day merchandise to wear with their jeans or dress down clothes(a sticker for $3 or a button for $5).
